The program, approved by the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council, will govern the training of apprentices in the Fire and Burglar Alarm Industry and qualify persons for installing, maintaining, repairing and inspecting life safety equipment.
It will provide a plan of approved training that will equip apprentices with the knowledge of what is expected as a journey level technician.
The program will assure the employer, fire service, law enforcement and private citizens that a proficient worker may be obtained and provide the public with the highest possible grade of products and service in conformity with approved practices of safety and skilled craftsmanship.

The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, disability or as otherwise specified by law. The sponsor shall take positive action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required by the rules of the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council and Title 29, Part 30 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
